Untitled Poem

Untitled by David C. Price

Though times may seem fearful and bleak,
And new voices are sanctioned in swope,
We must choose to focus on light,
the flickering lamp of hope.

While evil echoes from dark wooded towers,
And storms of hatred and bigotry blow,
Let’s face the billowing campfire of warmth,
Consuming evil with embers aglow.

When fingers of bullying brutality enflame,
Touching souls who seemingly suffer alone,
Look to the lighthouse of liberty who stands
With her beacon hand in elegant steel and stone.

The despot’s destruction may yet rage,
But lantern’s we’ll raise from our belfry above
As a rallying beacon and beckoning call
To offer peace and stir hope for all our beloved.
